Since opening our offices in 1981, we have developed relationships with and currently serve, independent producers throughout California and the Western States. Our affiliation with Insurance Designers strengthens our ability to meet the needs of our producers by offering a complete list of diverse financial products that are sure to meet the needs of any client.

Insurance Designers is a national organization committed to support and serve the independent producer.
Agents serve their clients by understanding their clients' needs and providing personal service with technical competence and competitive products. Insurance Designers serves the agent as a resource for enhancing the agent-client relationship by expanding the competitive stance of the agent.
Just as agents have identified that they are accountable to their client first, Insurance Designers has determined that we are accountable to the agent first and foremost.
The continued blurring of the financial services industry, coupled with the ever-increasing competition for the client, makes agency relationships more important.
By combining the competitive features of over 25 "A" and "A+" rated companies into a single organization staffed with well trained personnel, the independent agent has a resource that is unbiased in dealing with carriers. Insurance Designers, by it's nature, is marketing driven.
We are also proud to say that as a Regional Sales Office for Protective Life, we led the company in total life insurance production in 2003 and 2004.

Charles T. (Tim) Lord

With 36 years experience, Tim has extensive knowledge of sales, agency management, impaired risk brokerage and PPGA development. This experience, blended with the desire to develop strong and mutually beneficial relationships, have proven to be a formula for success. A committed professional, Tim has served several years on the Management Advisory Council for Protective Life and the Board of Directors for Insurance Designers. In February 2006, Tim was awarded the prestigious Drayton Nabors Jr. Excellence Award given to a Regional Sales Manager who exemplifies the core principles of Protective Life. He is only the fifth RSM to receive this high honor.

With 34 years experience in the life insurance business, Mike has spent half of his career running advanced underwriting departments for national carriers and half in the field as an agent or general agent. He brings an understanding of the sales process to his technical expertise and can assist you in a wide variety of sales situations. He is available to help you with the full gamut of problems you run across each day. Additionally he can work with your client's attorney and accountant, or assist you with your estate planning, business insurance, and non-qualified employee benefit cases.

His extensive work with stock brokers gives him the ability to help producers develop total financial portfolios for their clients. Mike earned the distinguished Chartered Life Underwriter designation in 2003.

As a Regional Sales Director for us, Ken brings 40 years of experience to our organization. He was a Founder of the Long Beach Life Underwriter's Association and a Past President. In addition, he is a Past President of the Long Beach GAMA and served as Vice President of the California Association of Life Underwriters. He's a life and qualifying member of MDRT and recipient of the National Quality Award for 31 years. In summary, he brings a wealth of experience to our organization.

Office Manager
Berta has been working with us since 2004 and has done a great job at helping the office run smoothly. Her primary responsibilities are contracting and commissions. Berta also tracks pending and issued applications for all Annuities, and life business submitted through US Financial and Prudential.
